Card Withdrawal Commissions and Payments Processing Improvements on CEX.IO

, January 31, 2019

CEX.IO was the first exchange to popularize purchases of cryptocurrencies via credit and debit cards. For us, it is important to constantly improve on payment options currently offered in the market.

More and more people are asking for reliable fiat service, without any delays or technical inconveniences. We are always working to improve our platform as well as develop relationships with new partners to meet your demands. Our improved withdrawal features are our latest enhancements.

Starting from February 4, 2019, the commission on card withdrawals for Visa and Mastercard will be as follows:

  • for USD – 3% + 5 USD
  • for EUR – 1.2% + 5 EUR
  • for GBP – 3% + 5 GBP

Good news for users in the European Economic Area

We are happy to announce that our users from countries within the European Economic Area will get simplified withdrawals.

Visa Withdrawals

Previously, users were required to deposit with their Visa cards to enable withdrawals to those cards. Now, users from the EEA region can easily withdraw funds to their Visa cards regardless of the initial deposit method.

GBP Withdrawals

Users who needed to withdraw GBP previously were not allowed to withdraw more than they had deposited within the last three months. GBP withdrawals are no longer limited to the amount of GBP deposited, and now users can withdraw the full available amount in GBP.

Killer feature: Withdrawals to payment cards

The CEX.IO platform continues to stand out among the many cryptocurrency exchanges by offering its users simple and almost instant withdrawals to their payment cards. This service significantly improves the user experience and convenience of using CEX.IO.

The requests for funds transfers via cards are mostly processed automatically and completed soon after their placement. You only need to make several clicks before your money reaches your card.

Transferring your funds via Visa and Mastercard is not only convenient but also secure. This is due to the fact that you do not need to log into any third party services, and all the data you input is always securely stored. Security is ensured by the PCI DSS certificate and the 3D Secure system employed.

We hope that you will continue to benefit from the fast and convenient card withdrawal options on CEX.IO.
