Card Maintenance on CEX.IO

, February 5, 2018

Please pay attention to the fact that card deposits and withdrawals will be on maintenance on February 7. Payments to both Visa and MasterCard will not be processed during that period. It will take from around half an hour to several hours in total.

Changes in Withdrawal and Depositing

After the maintenance is over, please pay attention to the following aspects:

  1. If you are planning to make a withdrawal to Visa, you will need to make a minimum deposit. It is necessary to enable withdrawals to that card as payment processor is changed.
  2. Deposits will be charged from the customers’ cards as Cash Advance or Quasi-Cash. We recommend our users to clarify with their bank whether such payments incur additional fees.

What is Quasi-Cash and Cash Advance?

Quasi-cash refers to the purchases that are directly convertible into cash. They include travel cheques, international currencies purchases, online wallets, etc. In a similar way, cash advance may sometimes be applied to money order purchases made with a credit card. Now, payments to CEX.IO are also identified as such type of service by international payment systems.

Both payment types may involve additional fees. So, we highly encourage you to clarify with your bank whether you will have to face additional charges when making deposits to CEX.IO.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the caused inconvenience and follow the updates. As soon as the maintenance is over and card processing is renewed, we will inform you.
